A Journey from Boreal Peaks to Golden Sands

Embark on an expedition across the vast expanse of Northern China, spanning Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, and Xinjiang. This is a land of dramatic contrasts. In the east, the Great Hinggan Mountains and the Changbai Range are draped in snow-clad boreal forests. To the west, the landscape shifts into the rolling dunes of deserts and the endless steppes. It is a place where life is tested by the elements, and only the strongest and most adaptable endure.

Monarchs of the Snow and Sentinels of the Sand

The King of the Taiga: In the misty coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forests, track the majestic Amur Tiger and the elusive Amur Leopard. These apex predators are the ultimate symbols of wilderness, silently patrolling ancient hunting grounds deep in the snow.

The Phantom of the North: Scan the vast white expanses of the grasslands and wetlands. Here, the Snowy Owl and other magnificent raptors reign. These silent hunters, with their piercing yellow eyes, float over the frozen plains, creating a scene of haunting beauty.

Dancers of the Volcanic Lakes: Witness the ethereal elegance of the Red-crowned Crane. In the volcanic wetlands, flocks of these celestial birds perform their graceful courtship dances against a backdrop of steaming lakes and reeds, a spectacle of life in the chill air.

Miracles of the Desert: Journey to the arid west to discover life's defiance. The sands hide treasures like the Cistanche  and Cynomorium, parasitic plants known as the "Ginseng of the Desert." Watch as agile Desert Lizards and Jirds dart across the dunes, masters of water conservation in a thirsty world.

A Landscape of Seasons and Survival

The flora here is a testament to resilience. In the forests, the Korean Pine stands tall against the winter gales, while in the deserts, the Populus Euphratica (Desert Poplar) turns into a sea of gold in autumn, symbolizing the eternal spirit of life in the face of adversity.
