Birding & Mammals Guide Shay Xie | China Wildlife Tour

Shay Xie studied ecology at Sichuan University and grew up in the Daba Mountains of Chongqing, one of China's biodiversity hotspots.

During his university years, Shay became the first to document the Blackthroat and Firethroat on the Sichuan University campus—records that were noted in local birding circles.

After graduation, Shay conducted wildlife surveys across Southwest China and worked as a freelance birding guide before joining CWT full-time.

Shay has guided birders from across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. He is known for finding difficult-to-see species and for sharing local nature stories along the trail.
